A space for children to shine
Since 2018, these children have been exploring their talents through traditional dances, music lessons, singing, and artistic expression, discovering their passions, expressing themselves, and letting their creativity shine. This is especially meaningful in Nepal, where 30% of the population is illiterate despite primary education being free and mandatory for children aged 6 to 11. In reality, only half of Nepalese children attend school, and in remote mountain areas the number is even lower. State schools are often of low quality, while private schools are unaffordable for most families, causing many children to drop out prematurely. The situation was further worsened by the major earthquake on April 25th, 2015, from which the country is still recovering. In this context, providing children with opportunities to learn, create, and express themselves is not only a way to nurture talent, but also a powerful means to build confidence, resilience, and hope for the future.
